Behaviour at Wightwick Hall School: One Size Fits One

At Wightwick Hall School, we recognise that every pupil is unique. This is why our approach to behaviour is built on the principle that "one size does not fit all, one size fits one." We understand that behaviour is a form of communication and that pupils may communicate their needs, anxieties, frustrations or emotions in different ways. We seek to understand the reasons behind behaviours and provide personalised support that enables pupils to regulate, engage and succeed.

Our approach is underpinned by restorative practice, which places relationships at the heart of everything we do. Through positive conversations, reflection and problem-solving, pupils are supported to understand the impact of their actions, repair relationships and make positive choices moving forward.

Staff work hard to create calm, predictable and nurturing environments where pupils feel safe, respected and valued. Consistent routines, clear expectations and strong relationships help pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and independence. By adapting strategies to meet individual needs, we ensure that each pupil receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
