Wellbeing and Inclusion Support

Wellbeing and Inclusion Support

At our school we believe that every student deserves to feel happy, valued, confident, and ready to learn. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all pupils feel supported and able to thrive, both academically and emotionally.

Sometimes children can benefit from a little extra help with their emotions, friendships, communication skills, confidence, or learning. To support this, we offer a range of nurturing interventions designed to promote wellbeing, resilience, and personal growth.

Throughout the year students may be invited to take part in one of our in-school support programmes including:

  • ELSA – targeted emotional support to help students understand and manage their feelings, build confidence, and develop positive coping strategies.
  • LEGO Therapy – structured small group sessions that encourage teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and social skills.
  • Drawing and Talking – a gentle therapeutic approach that allows students to explore and process emotions through creativity, helping to build emotional resilience.
  • Language for Thinking – supports language development, emotional understanding, reasoning, and social communication skills.
  • ARTiculate (BAAT) – creative activities that help students express thoughts and feelings while developing communication and interaction skills.
  • Music-Based Activities – promoting wellbeing, self-expression, and confidence through rhythm, creativity, and participation.
  • Sports-Based Interventions – helping students develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and positive relationships through physical activity.

We also work closely with a range of external professionals and services including the Mental Health Support Team and Focuss for Therapeutic Counselling  to ensure students and families can access additional support when needed. By working together with specialist agencies and making referrals where appropriate, we help ensure that every child receives the right support at the right time.

We are committed to ensuring that every student feels included, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. By working in partnership with families and specialist agencies, we provide timely, personalised support and interventions that help children develop confidence, resilience, independence, and the skills they need to thrive both now and in the future.
