About the Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant with senior lunchtime responsibilities, you will be a vital part of our team, helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and personally. Your role will include:

 

  • Working under the guidance of teachers to support learning in the classroom and, when needed, supervise classes for short-term, pre-planned cover.
  • Delivering structured support for pupils, including contributing to Individual Education, Behaviour and Support plans and guided reading sessions.
  • Supporting teachers with planning, assessment and accurate recording of pupil progress.
  • Providing pastoral support; assist with pupils’ personal needs, first aid and wellbeing practises.
  • Accompanying pupils on visits and extracurricular activities and help run out-of-class provision (breaks, lunchtimes) as required.
  • Using ICT to support learning and help develop pupils’ confidence with technology.
  • Encouraging resilience, independence, and confidence in our pupils
  • Contributing to the school’s high standards of behaviour and achievement
  • Working under the direction of the Headteacher, organise and supervise the work of the supervisory assistants
  • Supervising of children before, during and after the school meal,

This is a hands-on role where you will have direct impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing every day, offering a meaningful chance to directly impact children’s lives and be part of a caring, forward-thinking school community.


About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their learning journeys
  • Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic, with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Holds a Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning
  • Has experience working with children with additional needs, including communication challenges
  • Understands the primary curriculum and can adapt support to meet diverse pupil needs
  • Works well as part of a team and values collaboration
  • Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Holds high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
